FACET SYNDROME

Facet syndrome is a degenerative joint disease which impacts the joint between two vertebrae. Pain, soreness, and stiffness occur when the facet joints become inflamed. Prolonged periods of inactivity, like sitting or standing too long, may increase your pain. This pain may feel worse in the morning and improve as the day progresses. Those who sit all day with poor posture may experience pain throughout the day.

Treatment Options

Treatment options for facet syndrome include massage therapy, medical procedures, MRIs, medications, and prescriptions. Our specialists will develop a treatment plan that works best to break the irregular recurring cycles of pain. This may involve physical therapy to strengthen your core, acupuncture, or chiropractic treatment. If the facet pain becomes chronic, more invasive options may be needed.
